...have got a Keith. and on that Keith they have layer upon layer of squidgy rumbling bass, mashed up noise assaults, seething vocals, half spat directly into ya ears via a telephone line.. but in places they also have cello's, whispers and creeks.. slight of hand laid back sprinkles of jazzy guitars.. but always a phat bass line and demented .. clickity click drumage of the Keith or a bin lid or mic stand.. |

CHAPO is almost nutcase doom cartoon music...ya could chase each other with frying pans too..... " la la la la la la la.." squeltch squeltch........ The bass on LENINA is ridicules... and then it all falls down.... take a fooking big old deep breath for VOSTOK and its exact opposite floating bass doom, clatter clatter of drums slipping on ice ... and the cello... oh the cello... the sweet cello and " delicious splinters everywhere..."
Big Joan aint just a fine example of Class A Audio, they are seasoned solders of D.I.Y existence.. with members simon and adam`s involvement with Bristols club night and indipendant audio junkies CHOKE, has grown its own heart beat, thriving and growing into the best indie/noise/post-punk/rock night in Bristol area today, releasing and writing about records and championing mighty local sounds, inc CHIKINKI IVORY SPRINGER, SAMMO HUNG, GEISHA and giving out of town touring bands like the Scottish dementia of LAPSUS LINGUAE, londons noise guru`s PART CHIMP and many more a thriving & well informed Bristol crowd.
